Each year, our stewardship campaign provides an opportunity to express gratitude for God’s blessings. The spiritual commitment of pledging provides the resources for St. Margaret’s Church to fulfill its mission of transforming lives in Christ through worship, formation and giving. This year, St. Margaret’s Stewardship campaign theme is “Connection. Compassion. Community.” These three facets are ingrained in St. Margaret’s heritage, and are especially vital today.
So much of the St. Margaret’s experience is powered through Stewardship – mission efforts in our community, investment in technology for stronger communications, the important formation of our children and youth, and support for our wonderful staff. As we embark on this year’s Stewardship campaign, St. Margaret’s extends a heartfelt “Thank You!” to everyone who contributed to the outstanding campaign last year which raised $925,000 from 219 pledges! Even in our uncertain times, you have continued to give in service of others – an amazing testament to the special community of St. Margaret’s.
This year, we are striving for $925,000 from 230 pledges. In past years, we have asked for a year over year monetary increase. In our discussions with the Vestry, we didn’t want to be tone deaf and ask for a big increase this year. We are seeking to maintain our financial level of giving from last year, with a moderate increase in the number of pledges.
In order to reach our goals, please consider your Stewardship pledge for the budget year 2021 with the idea of continuing St. Margaret’s legacy of giving for 328 years (and counting.) In particular, if you previously gave to the St. Margaret’s offertory plate (something we should never take for granted!), please consider making a pledge or estimate of what you would be putting in that plate on a regular basis. And if you have not pledged previously and would like to talk with someone, contact any member of our team.
Please submit your pledge online by November 15, 2020 to allow adequate time for the Vestry to plan the budget for next year. It’s not a contract, just a commitment – one that allows the Vestry to more accurately establish a 2021 budget. For those who pledged last year, you will be able to view your pledge statement in Realm for reference as well as view your current and past pledge amounts under the “GIVING” tab.
Additionally, St. Margaret’s has a wonderful lay ministry program that is in search of volunteers who can lend their time and talent in a variety of ways. Please consider pledging your time – it will continue to make our community even stronger.
