Children's Chapel - Though normally a time for younger children to leave the sanctuary and learn a lesson and sing a song during the sermon, the leaders of the Chapel will be recording their weekly activities for families to download and enjoy any time during the week.
We offer Sunday School to children ages 3 to 18 each week from September through May.
Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language, a parable, a sacred story, silence and liturgical action to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives. For ages 3-4 and 5-6.
Early Elementary Class - The curriculum is friendly, fun, and gets kids digging into the Bible and seeing the connection to their life, as well as gets the family involved to keep the lesson going through the week. For grades 2-3.
Later Elementary Class - This program allows children to go deeper into one of the readings we have in church each week with activities, questions, and discussion to further explore scripture and its meaning in our everyday lives. For grades 4-5.
This year all of these classes will be online. Lessons will be pre-recorded and sent out on Sundays. Each elementary class will then meet through Zoom once a month so they can interact with their teachers and see their friends.
Second and third grade class will meet on the second Sunday of each month.
Fourth and fifth grade class will meet on the third Sunday of each month.
If you have a Realm account with St. Margaret's, please make sure your child is in the correct grade class. Parents will be sent all lessons online through Realm. If you do not have a Realm account, email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive an "invitation" to join.
Intro to Communion
The Rev. Peter offers a class for younger children to better understand the process of Holy Communion. The class is on a Saturday and children who participate are then allowed to come up to the altar the next day during the worship service and get an up close look at how it all happens. Class is usually scheduled in May.
Easter Week Walk
Our clergy will invite children during Easter Week for a walk around the campus to better understand Jesus' actions. With hands-on activities and storytelling, this program is for children of all ages.
We offer an annual Children's Epiphany Pageant sharing the story of the Magi the first Sunday of January, when we celebrate Epiphany. All children are welcome to participate. We have costumes for kings, shepherds, angels, etc. We hope to have it again in 2021, but our Covid guidelines must be followed.
Easter Egg Hunt/Vacation Bible School
Other events for our younger members include our annual Easter Egg Hunt held on Easter Sunday morning and our Vacation Bible School usually held the last week of June. Again, these events may have to be cancelled due to Covid.
