CHORISTER PROGRAM
The Chorister Program is a fun and transformational experience for children and youth ages 5 to 14 and is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation. They sing together and in groups (K-2 “Seraphim”; 3-5 “Seraphim”; 6-8 “Chorale”) for monthly Chorister Evensongs and other select services during term. The program utilizes the acclaimed RSCM Voice for Life and Young Singers’ Journey schemes that focus on age-appropriate vocal training, sight-singing, music theory, and worship leading, with fun and challenging repertoire programmed for worship that puts into practice the musical skills taught. Choristers develop musical skills that last a lifetime while fostering growth in other areas, including leadership, commitment, focus, attention to detail, patience, teamwork, camaraderie, responsibility, and a love for service.
ADULT CHOIR
Our Adult Choir welcomes singers ages high school and above, and middle school age choristers who have graduated from the chorister program. They usually sing one Sunday morning per month and lead music for special services including All Saints’ Ragtime Mass, Christmas Eve, Holy Week/Easter, and seasonal Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, and Lenten Lessons and Carols. We frequently collaborate with other local choirs and periodically offer services of Choral Evensong and Compline and occasionally offer come and sing “pick-up” choirs.
WELLSPRING
Wellspring is St. Margaret's contemporary music ensemble that offers contemporary Christian music one Sunday morning a month. They craft a diverse blend of traditional and contemporary Christian music across many genres and feature a wide variety of acoustic and electric instruments. Along with special guests, they also lead the music for special services including our annual Celtic Mass.
HANDBELLS
Handbells at St. Margaret's offers a wonderful opportunity for any age or ability level who loves music to develop and improve basic music skills. Our group names come from the service of Morning Prayer, found in the Book of Common Prayer:
Jubilate Ringers (intermediate/advanced) - "Jubilate Deo" (Be Joyful in God)
Te Deum Ringers (adult beginner) - "Te deum laudamus" (We Praise you, God)
Venite Ringers (children/family beginner) - "Venite exultemus Domino" (Come, let us rejoice in God)
