ST. MARGARETS HAS A MISSION TO GIVE BACK
St. Margarets has been blessed with generous legacy donations that comprise our endowment. From our endowment, we give grants to local and international organizations. Two groups lead this effort: The Missions Commission and the Grants Committee.
Our priorities are as follows (in no particular order):
(1) Endow the poor and hungry with the means to feed, shelter and clothe themselves;
(2) Restore the ill to health and heal the broken;
(3) Promote, preserve, and sustain environmental health; and good practices;
(4) Improve access to educational opportunities; and
(5) Implement trust, enable reconciliation and/or confront structural racism & inequality.
The handbook below is a list of current opportunities to volunteer through St. Margaret’s. Other ongoing projects that are currently fully staffed are not listed here, but will be added as needs arise in the future.
The Missions Commission is actively seeking new parishioner-led projects to support. If you are involved in an organization that has a need under $2,500, please complete the 1-page Parishioner-Led Grant application.
Missions Commission members are:
Beth Arruda, Chair
Barbara Friedmann, Member and Secretary
Justyn Kopack, Member
Robert Thomas, Member
Casey Pingle, Member and Treasurer
Helen Patterson, Member
Russell Jackson, Member
