CONCERTS
Outside of the liturgical music offered, St. Margaret's offer a wide variety of performances year-round. We serve as a location for musicians from the area to come and teach, hold rehearsals, recitals, record, and host various workshops. In recent years, we have served as a host venue for the Annapolis Chamber Music Festival and Music that Makes Community. Other concert offerings have included silent film organ concerts and performances by area ensembles including Arundel Vocal Arts Society, the Renaissance Singers of Annapolis, Ensemble Galilei, and our own Third Sunday Band. PROGRAMS
Junior Organ Scholar Program Geared for youth ages 6 and up to help Director of Music Jim Douglas at the organ for a portion of select Sunday services. A unique way to engage in and experience worship! Visiting Youth Choir Initiative On select Sundays we host and collaborate with accomplished local youth choirs from the region. Voices in Praise and the Madeira School Choir are some of the wonderful groups that have recently shared their talents with us. Children's Chapel Music During the school year on Sundays during the 9:00am service, children ages three through fifth grade participate in their own worship service where age-appropriate lessons, songs and prayers are offered. Song selections are fun and simple to learn and memorize and are offered to the congregation on select Sundays. Vocal Coaching Older choristers and adults receive both group and individual vocal training from accomplished vocal coaches from the greater Annapolis area. These lessons allow for additional work outside of choir rehearsals on technique, breathing and overall vocal development and health. (top photo: Easter Sunday with the St. Margaret's Brass) |
