Winter Relief
From a place to sleep, to hot meals, to toiletries and warm clothing during the day, St. Margaret's is just one of 70 churches opening its doors to bring warmth and compassion to the homeless in Anne Arundel County each year. The Winter Relief Program of the Arundel House of Hope runs from October through April and is helping from 25-40 people per night stay out of the cold each winter. It's a labor of love for over 100 volunteers from St. Margaret's during one week in the winter. For them, helping those with nowhere to call home is a calling and a duty. From making two meals a day to being a welcoming host to transporting clients to work, there is a wide variety of jobs to do when the church hosts. Prepare Meals for the Light House Shelter
The Light House Shelter currently provides dinners year round for 50-65 community members in need. St. Margaret's parishioners provide and prepare that meal one night a month. For now, the work involves planning, purchasing and preparing the meal offsite and delivering it to Light House. It is a great activity to share with friends, relatives or groups of which you are a part. Please consider signing up for one or more of the available dates. Contact: Janet Allen, Light House Dinner Coordinator, [email protected].
